A Sweet Sixteen at Sea

A day for younger guests. Designed with the host, not for the host.

A sweet sixteen on a yacht is its own format — different from an adult party, different from a children's birthday. Sixteen-year-olds are remarkably perceptive about whether the day was designed for them or designed for the parents to enjoy watching them.

We always ask the host directly — never the parents — what they want the day to feel like. The answers are usually some version of: time with their closest friends, music they have chosen, the freedom to swim without being supervised, and a single special moment that does not feel choreographed. The parents will be on board; the host wants them there. The host does not want them at the centre of the day.

The office handles

Quietly,
in the background.

  • 01A menu the host approves — usually a long lunch heavy on shared plates and pizza
  • 02Music control given fully to the host for the day — pre-paired playlist on the boat's system
  • 03A cake at sundown only, not at lunch — chosen by the host two weeks ahead
  • 04Two paddle boards, snorkelling gear, a slide on the swim platform if the yacht has one
  • 05A short photo session at sundown — no longer, the rest of the day off-camera
  • 06Optional: a friend to drive the tender (with the bosun) — the host's social currency for years

Questions we hear

Most-asked.

How involved can the host be in the planning?+

Fully, if they want to be. We do a 30-min call with the host (with the parent's approval) to confirm music, food, the cake and a single special moment. The parents see the final menu before we send it.

Is there a minimum age for alcohol on board?+

Spanish law applies — 18+. We provision an exceptional non-alcoholic bar (the chef makes proper craft mocktails) so the under-18s don't feel anything is missing.
