Cala Salada
A small horseshoe cove backed by pine, sheltered from the south, the calmest morning swim on the north-west side.
ala Salada and its smaller sibling Cala Saladeta form a perfect horseshoe of pine, sand and turquoise on the north-west coast of Ibiza, sheltered from the prevailing south-westerly. The cove is small — half a dozen yachts at most — so the early morning is the moment. From a yacht anchored just outside the swimming line, the water is calm enough to read a book on the swim platform.
Day-boats out of Sant Antoni arrive from 11:30 onwards. We typically anchor at 09:30, swim until 11:00, then move on while the cove is still ours.

Questions we hear
Cala Salada — answered.
Why arrive early at Cala Salada?+
The cove fills with day-boats from Sant Antoni between 11:30 and 16:00. By 09:30 you have the bay almost to yourself; by 11:00 it begins to fill. The water clarity is also at its best before any wakes have stirred it.
